Finding True Endometriosis Pain Relief: My One-Year Update

Janis Oenbrink FNP-C discussing endometriosis pain relief in Cocoa FL

It has been exactly one year since my final endometriosis surgery. It is the first year I can remember being completely symptom free. Finding true endometriosis pain relief changed my entire life. About seventeen months ago, I met a new doctor who actually listened to me. She reviewed my four previous surgery reports and all my lab work. She acknowledged my frustration and my fears. She told me to start an anti-inflammatory diet to prepare for the surgery. I began researching and learned so much about the detrimental effects inflammation has on the body.

I had caught COVID a few months before that appointment. I quickly gained almost twenty pounds despite making huge efforts to lose weight. I was absolutely miserable. Once I addressed the root cause of the issue, everything shifted.

The Path to Endometriosis Pain Relief

The inflammation in my body was overwhelming. I made diet changes, added targeted supplements, and changed my workout regimen. The weight started to come off. I was down 15 pounds by the time of my surgery.

The procedure was extensive, but my recovery was quick. My life has only gotten better since then. I still battle inflammation, but I know my triggers now. Finding a solid regimen of medication, hormone replacement, and supplements truly saved my life. I actually sleep at night. I have energy, and I feel completely different.

My point in sharing this is simple. You must listen to your body. Find the root cause of the issue and never accept the fact that you feel awful. I understand the feeling of frustration. I know what it feels like when no one is listening to your concerns.

I know the feeling of defeat when it seems like there is no solution. Whether it is low energy, weight gain, or severe pain, you should never accept that you just have to live with it. You owe it to yourself to explore options beyond traditional medication. My office is a safe place where you will be heard. I would love the opportunity to help you address your struggles and feel like the best version of yourself.
