I have always heard that you will never change your life until you change the things you do every single day. It takes effort, consistency, and discipline. I truly believe if you do not prioritize your health now, you will regret it in the future. This applies to your budget, your mindset, and your physical body. As a Nurse Practitioner, I see many people searching for instant results. They often overlook the work it takes to get there. Creating healthy daily habits is the true secret to lasting vitality.
The Power of Healthy Daily Habits
It is easy to look at someone else and feel envious. We see strong bodies, nice houses, and beautiful vacation photos. We completely overlook the effort it took to achieve those things. It takes hours and years of effort to get real results.
I certainly do not have all the answers. I do know the incredible value of adding a daily goal to my life. A couple of years ago, my husband and I made a resolution to walk 10,000 steps a day. We still do this religiously. It is now just a normal part of our lives. I cannot imagine going to bed without my Fitbit buzzing to tell me I reached my goal. It has been great for our physical health, our mental health, and our daily conversations.
Simple Additions to Your Routine
My resolution this year was adding morning rebounding to my schedule. I get up and make my coffee. Then I jump on my mini trampoline for a few minutes every single day. I have been happily surprised by the change in my muscle tone and skin texture. It is fun and makes me wake up feeling alive. It is a cheap addition to my routine with massive benefits.
You do not need to spend a lot of money to be healthy. It just takes a little time and effort. As we age, our health is our greatest asset. Start today. Find something you like to do and do it daily. Whether you choose a step goal, going to the gym, or rebounding, you will find the benefits are absolutely amazing.
